Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire provide a range of very good riding experiences, from the quiet lanes criss crossing the rolling Cheshire Plain to the exhilarating mountain biking afforded by the Clwydian Mountain Range in North East Wales to the west of Wrexham. Coed Llandegla Forest is one of the biggest & best mountain biking centres in Wales with routes for all the family and the experienced biker (Pictured). Tel: 01978 751656. planetadventure.com The Clwydian Range provides the following routes; Coed Nercwys a multi user trail around Llyn Brenig, the Coed Moel Famau Loop and the Cilcain Short. From Llangollen you could take Route 26 , a circular ride, along the canal to the Pontycysyllte Aqueduct and then up 800ft on to the Panorama, a lime stone escarpment high above the Vale of Llangollen which provides beautiful views, and back to Llangollen (About 15 miles long) Check out the other routes at www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk. Closer to Worthenbury Manor are a number of Cheshire & Shropshire routes for example, Ellsemere Route 1 to Colemere and on to Welshampton & back (About 25 miles long), Ellesmere Route 2 Bangor on Dee to Penley on to Ellesmere and back to Bangor on Dee (About 23 miles long). There are also cycle routes around Whitchurch which might be of interest such as Whitchurch Route 3, we suggest you start at Worthenbury Manor cycle to Threapwood, pick up the route there, cycle on to Whitchurch and then back through Malpas to The Manor.
